SIDA (Challenge Fund)

Sida, a government agency, is dedicated to improving living conditions for people facing poverty and oppression. To foster economic, environmental, and social sustainability in the developing world, Sida uses Challenge Funds to finance entrepreneurs and innovators. These funds have various regional and thematic priorities, ensuring that development efforts reach as many people as possible. The funds target key development issues that are often overlooked by market forces.

Challenge Funds are also used to stimulate and support research and civil society innovations. For instance, they invest in local knowledge to enhance governance, transparency, and rights, improve access to services, and strengthen people’s voice and influence.
